Childhood is a treasure trove of imagination and wonder, where DIY projects serve as vessels for those fantastical dreams. As a child, I delighted in creating my own little worlds using various materials, allowing my imagination to run wild. What I saw and envisioned may have been puzzling to others, but to me, they were vibrant and filled with endless colors.
This interactive installation is a nostalgic homage to childhood, a reflection of cherished memories. Through the magic of sound, viewers can engage with the artwork. The lights within the installation respond to sound data, transforming and shifting accordingly. These lights symbolize the whimsical ideas that often inhabit a child's mind. Just as a falling leaf or a passing puppy can alter a child's imagination while constructing their own world, the influence of sound on light adds another layer of enchantment and captivation.
Laser paper takes center stage as the primary material, chosen not only for its reflective properties but also for its resemblance to the candy packaging I adored as a child. Thus, the material itself holds a special place in my heart, evoking a sense of nostalgia.
