Interactive Art + Creative Technology + Visual Design + Sound Visualization
With the advancement of technology, humans have gained the ability to harness the power of nature and create artificial objects. However, the widespread use of these creations has led to a growing disconnect between humans and the natural world. In an effort to reverse this trend, the interactive video-audio project "The Landscapes in Urban" transforms the collected sounds of various artificial items into elements found in nature. By doing so, it seeks to strengthen the bond between humans and nature.
Through this interactive approach, the project aims to reintroduce nature into the concrete jungle of urban life, particularly in bustling metropolitan areas. The blending of nature and humans is brought to life within this space through captivating imagery, bridging the gap between the artificial and the natural.
My intention is to create a connection between the sounds of man-made objects and the presence or transformation of natural elements, which are represented through video imagery.
Through sound data in the space, specific natural elements such as a waterfall, clouds, trees, and flowers are triggered or undergo changes. By placing a waterfall, a symbol of nature's beauty, within the human-made world, it instantly draws people closer to the natural realm. Clouds, trees, and flowers, once common in people's lives, have become increasingly rare due to air pollution and land development. My goal is to reintroduce these elements back into people's experiences, fostering a reconnection with nature and the beauty it offers.
The project was shown in an office setting, aiming to infuse a touch of natural beauty and alleviate the weary atmosphere.
