Visual Design + Prototyping + Installation + Audiovisual

The installation primarily utilizes non-degradable plastic materials, specifically food cling film, to depict the appearance of ocean waves. This choice of material serves as a poignant commentary on the unfortunate reality of plastic pollution in our oceans and its detrimental impact on marine life. Despite its commonality in everyday life, the seemingly innocuous nature of this thin plastic sheet is alarmingly destructive due to its resistance to biodegradation.

In addition to the visual representation, the sound element of the installation is also created using this plastic material to simulate the sound of crashing waves. This sound further influences the projected screen colors on the installation, resulting in a vivid and unusually vibrant depiction of the sea. This intentional manipulation of color draws attention to the damaging effects of plastic on the ocean ecosystem.

By employing non-degradable plastic materials in the installation, the artwork aims to raise awareness about the urgent need for sustainable practices and the detrimental consequences of plastic pollution in our fragile marine environments.
